(GRADUATION IS HERE) GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU FROM THE STAFF OF KAPAA HIGH Kapaa High School Kapa’a High will be switching the following instructional days. Students please let your parents know. ALL STUDENTS: Kauai Empowered Youth is presenting a summer camp July 12 - July 21. K.E.Y. is a holistic mentoring program which uses mulit-cultural modalities to empower youth. The camp includes: Yoga, dance, drumming, organic food growing, nutrition education, rites of passage, anger management skills and the creation of a music video. Please see Mrs. Christensen in the counseling office for more information. Yearbooks are here! There are a number of students who still need to pick up yearbooks. Students may not realize their parents purchased for them during registration. Please tell students to check during recesses at D103 if they purchased one. Yearbooks are still available. Important notice! - Instruction Day Ending Time

Congratulations Class of 2012!!!


Kapaa High School 

Kapa’a High will be switching the following instructional days. 

Wednesday, May 23rd will become a full day and instruction will end at 2:20 p.m. 

Thursday, May 24th (last day for students/teachers) will be converted to a Wednesday schedule ending @1:40 p.m. 

School bus pick up will reflect the schedule change.         
Parents/Guardians, please make the needed arrangements for pick-up.

It’s that time of the year again! In support of this year’s Memorial Day Observance, Please sew a lei in honor of our service men and women.
INSTRUCTIONS:
•    Lei should be 24″ in length and made of flowers/leaves that will keep for several days.
•    Flower lei should be tied together to form a loop.
•    Ti leave lei need not be tied together.
•    NOTE:  Paper lei and bouquets CANNOT be accepted due to cemetery restrictions
•    Drop off in the morning on MAY 22, 2012 at the SAC RM.

Want to also say "arigato" to Chanelle as she made it a point to communicate with Ms. Yoshi throughout. We need your assistance in sharing this reminder that there are additional yearbooks for sale. Last school year the yearbook class incurred a deficit due to the amount of unsold yearbooks.

The County of Kauai Permit Division has once again advised Kapa'a High School that an application and payment for a permit is needed to hang "Congratulation Banners" for Seniors on ANY of the fences in Kapa’a Town.
It is AGAINST the LAW to hang Posters, Sheet Banners, or even Professional Banners around KAPA'A town WITHOUT a proper PERMIT!!!

Please tell your Parents, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends Do not hang banners on ANY fences in Kapa'a Town!!
Safety ALERT!!!  
A graduation banner broke loose and landed on a car's windshield, thankfully no one was hurt . . . but it could have. . . Also, no one takes them down after graduation, so don't put them up.
BE SAFE!!! And please help Kapa'a High keep our great rapport
with the County of Kauai Permit Division.

Kapaa High is the host school for this weeks episode of Hiki No.  Check us out tomorrow at 7:30pm on PBS Hawaii!  It re-airs on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Students Sharon Whatmore, JR Quilos, Megan Morel and Lawson Fernandes are the hosts.  Please congratulate them for all of their hours of hard work!  It's not as easy as they make it look.

Can't remember if you bought a yearbook this year. There's a list posted on D103 door of students who have purchased a yearbook . Yearbooks are still available to purchase $50 at accounting office during recesses only. Yearbooks will be distributed next week on designated days.  A flyer with the information will be out this Friday.

Juniors and Seniors:   
Reminder:  All students registered for the May 5th SAT Reasoning Test, please report to room A-13 (Mr. Oda's classroom) by 7:45 am.  This test will take approximately 5
hours to complete so it is important to start on time.  You need to bring two #2 pencils, a calculator, your admission ticket and a picture ID.  Please eat a good breakfast as
you will be testing through lunch.  You may bring a snack to eat during one of the breaks.  If you have questions, please see Mrs. Keawe in the Counseling Office.
