ALL:
Tonight is the big night! This year's Virtual Enterprise students will be hosting their Grand Opening and business plan presentation at the Kauai Beach Resort (formerly the Hilton) tonight beginning at 6:00 PM Tuesday Night.

Foodland Shop for Higher Education -thank you for shopping at Foodland and designating Kapaa High School as the school of your choice to earn points. As of February 24, the top 5 schools are1) Lahainaluna High School, 2) Hilo High, 3) Kapaa High, 4) Kahuku High and Intermediate and 5) Baldwin High. So keep shopping at Foodland so we can keep earning those points. The program ends on March 29. 2/3

SENIORS:
New Scholarships keeps coming in to the Counselor"s Office - Check out the Scholarship file for the updates during non-classroom time only. As you take a scholarship, remember to sign out in the Scholarship log on top of the filing cabinet. The Scholarship File has the scholarships that are sent to us, there are even more online at various websites. Pick up the Grove Farm (due March 1) and the Foodland Scholarship from Mrs. Okamoto (due March 23) 2/3

Prom season is here! Prom will be at the Kauai Beach Resort on Saturday, April 2 at 5:30 pm - 10:30 pm. The cost is $55.00 CASH ONLY! We will begin collecting payments on Wednesday, February 23 during morning recess and lunch at the SAC room. You must NOT have any financial obligations and must meet the 2.0 GPA and GLO grades. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Watanabe in the
SAC room. Last day to pay for the Prom is Thursday, March 10. You have lots of time to plan, so start now!

Juniors:
Reminder to Juniors -
1) If you are planning to take the May SAT, the deadline to register is April 8. All registration is done on-line. We are a testing site for the May SAT. Remember to put our school code of 120160, so we can receive your results to place on your transcript. If you don't sign up for the May SAT, then we recommend to take the June 4th one for sure. We are not a testing site for June 4th. Whichever test date you choose, remember to get some test prep done. Any questions, see your counselor. 2/3

2) You can take the ACT test also, with or without the Writing Section depending on your college choices. The next test date is April 9 and the registration deadline is March 4. There will be a NHS General Meeting on Wednesday, March 2nd at 11:35 am in room D-103. We start discussing 4th quarter projects and Induction Ceremony. 1/2

Scholarships for Seniors - It's that time of year for the Foodland's Shop For Higher Education program. It will begin on February 16 to March 29. Show your Maika'i Card every time you shop to earn points for our school. Ask your family, friends and neighbors to designate our school. The school code for Kapaa High School is 7545. The more people we have earning Maika'i Points for us, the more scholarships our school can receive. The top five schools will receive five (5) $2,000 scholarships each. Kapaa High School has finished #2 for the past few years let's see if we can take the #1 slot this year.

ATTENTION STUDENTS Lower campus is off limits during morning recess and lunch. A teacher pass is the only way to go down campus. Failure to comply will earn students negative consequences, so please cooperate with adults in this matter.

SENIORS:
Any interested senior, may pick up the Hawaii Children's Theatre, Ethan Shell Memorial Scholarship Application at the Counselor's office. Seniors must be pursuing a formal education in the performing arts such as theatre arts, music, dance, or stagecraft.

JUNIORS & SENIORS:
Nomination forms for Prom Court will be available on Wednesday, February 23 at the SAC room. The positions available is Prom King, Prom Queen, Senior Rep., Senior Escort, Junior Rep., Junior Escort. Forms will be due on Thursday, March 10.

Scholarships for Seniors - It's that time of year for the Foodland's Shop For Higher Education program. It will begin on February 16 to March 29. The ELL Program is continuing its WIDA TESTING of students this week periods Thursday, February 17th during 2nd and 3rd Periods. There will be some Testing on Friday, February 18th for "make ups" and for the "Speaking Test" as well.

STUDENTS:
The Warrior Cheer Team will be having a pre-tryout parent meeting on Monday February 21st at 6:00pm in the Gym.
If you are interested in becoming a Warrior Cheerleader or simply finding out what it takes to become one please join us for this very important pre-tryout parent meeting. We are looking for both male and female athletes with incredible athleticism and pride.
