Scholarships
Any Senior Girls interested in running for Miss Kauai Veteran may pick up an application at the counselor's office during recess or lunch. This Scholarship Pageant which the winner will receive a $1,000 college scholarship and be the Queen of the Veteran's Day Parade. Must be related to a Veteran and have a 2.5 GPA and be involved in community and student affairs. Deadline: Sept 30, 2010.

The HGEA Charles R Kendall Scholarship is in. Seniors may pick up an application at the counselor's office during recess or lunch. Criteria: Parents must be HGEA members, student must have financial need, academic achievement, write a personal letter and have 3 recommendation letters. Deadline: Jan.10, 2011

Cap & Gown Ordering
Cap & Gown ordering day is on Tuesday, Sept. 21st during lunch in the SAC room. don't forget. If you did not get an informational graduation packet, you may get one at the SAC room. Make sure you bring in a deposit of $60.00 to place your order. Seniors may also order a class ring if you did not order one last year. ASVAB Aptitude Test

Class Ring Ordering
Juniors will have the opportunity to order a class ring on Tuesday, Sept. 21st during morning recess in the SAC room. If you did not receive an informational ring packet, you may get one through your English teacher or at the SAC room. Make sure you bring in a deposit of $60.00 if you are going to order.

JUNIORS , SOPHOMORES & FRESHMEN
PSAT
Kapaa High School's PSAT (Preliminary SAT test) is scheduled for Saturday, October 16 from 8:00 am - 11:15 am. It is scheduled only once a year and by chance it falls on our Homecoming Day. Therefore, it is especially important for everyone to come on time so we can finish on time and be ready for Homecoming. The PSAT is open to Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen. The cost is $14. You will receive a PSAT Prep Booklet/Study Guide to help you with your preparation. Sign ups will begin on Monday, September 13 during non classroom time in the Counselor's Office. Seating is limited so it is on a first come first served. We highly recommend our Juniors who are thinking of attending a four year college to sign up, in order to have you even better prepared to take your first SAT's during the Spring Semester.

It is free and runs over fall break at Kauai Veterans Center. This will look great on your college application and really give you a boost in your future pursuits. Interested students come by and get an application in B203 from Ms. Stuart.

BIG BROTHER / BIG SISTER
Do you like kids? Have compassion to be a friend? If this is you, you may want to consider becoming a big brother or big sister to a kid who is in need of a friend. The Big Brother and Big Sister Program will be having a presentation on Thursday, Sept. 9 during lunch in the SAC room. Snacks will be provided. Want to make a difference in a kid's life? All it takes is one day a week for an hour and a half! Make a difference today, and sign up to be a big brother or big sister.

The Counselors have scheduled their Senior Class Presentations on College and Career Planning through the Senior Social Studies Classes. Seniors without a Senior Social Studies Class Should schedule themselves to sit in on one of the following presentations:
Wednesday September 15

Thursday September 16
Ms. Farina's period 2 and 6 Mrs. Keawe
Friday September 17
Ms. Asher's period 1 and 3 Ms. Christensen

BIG BROTHER / BIG SISTER:
Do you like kids? Have compassion to be a friend? If this is you, you may want to consider becoming a big brother or big sister to a kid who is in need of a friend. The Big Brother and Big Sister Program will be having a presentation on Thursday, Sept. 9 during lunch in the SAC room. Snacks will be provided. Want to make a difference in a kid's life? All it takes is one day a week for an hour and a half! Make a difference today, and sign up to be a big brother or big sister.

CHEER SQUAD:

Anyone interested in joining the Cheerleading team? We are looking for athletes who are ready to push themselves to the limit. Men and women who are competitive, humble and loves being a Warrior! If this sounds like you, we`ll be having another tryouts; on Thursday September 2nd in the GYM at 3:30-4:30 pm, Friday September 3rd at the TENNIS COURTS at 3:30-4:30 pm and Saturday September 4th from 7:30-9:00 am in the GYM! Don't forget u need you physical and parental consent form before you can tryout. Lets keep our Warrior SPIRIT strong! GO KAPA`A! 3/5

Japanese Club's first meeting is on Wednesday, Sept. 8, lunch time in Ms. Wadahara's room D-203. Only paid members get to vote for officers. Club applications accepted till Friday (9/10).
