The Hawaii Youth Conservation Corp will be here Today Thursday, Jan 26th to do their presentation during 5th and 6th period. Students may sign up for either period, at the counseling office. HYCC Summer Youth Program provides "PAID" environmental internships for Hawaii's youth. (Must be a Junior or 17 years of age to participate.) Students may earn up to $1,132. qualified students can also receive three college credits through UH Manoa.

Anyone 21 years of age may also apply to be a Team Leader. Team Leaders receive approx. up to $3,500 and a $1,132 educational ward.

Senior Contracts: Please be sure that you have been provided with a "senior contract" as it is already in effect this semester. Informed that not all seniors may have received a copy from their period 1 teachers. Very difficult for administration to be consistent especially when dealing with serious Chapter 19 incidents.

SENIOR:
Any interested Seniors may sign up in the Counselor's office to see the Kauai Community College Rep. John Constantino will be on Campus on Monday, Jan. 23rd, during periods 2 and 3. This is the only time we will have a KCC rep to speak
with you. If you have any questions please see your counselor. The Library has a limited number of seats and we already have 30 students signed up. Don't miss this opportunity.

Reminders:
Seniors Last day to sign up for project grad @ $75 is January 18, 2012. Cost to attend will be additional $5 more after January 20, 2012 in additional as well for each month after than. (ie: February will be $80 and March $85 and April $90)

Senior Contracts: Please be sure that you have been provided with a "senior contract" as it is already in effect this semester. Informed that not all seniors may have received a copy from their period 1 teachers. Very difficult for administration to be consistent especially when dealing with serious Chapter 19 incidents.

JUNIORS:
Any Junior interested in applying to the KIUC Youth Tour, there will be an informational meeting on Friday, January 6 from 12 noon to 12:15 in the library. The KIUC Youth Tour provides young adults with the opportunity to travel to our nations capital to experience how government functions, learn about the complexities of today's electric utility industry, meet and work with hundreds of their peers from throughout the United States, and visit monuments, government buildings, and cooperative related organizations. The applications will be distributed at the end of the meeting and it is due back to Mrs. Okamoto by 2:45 pm on Monday, January 9, 2012.. The school will select up to 5 students and submit the names along with the applications to KIUC by Tuesday, January 10, to participate in the interview process scheduled for the week of February 11.
