Fund raiser to benefit our student's Kapa'a HS Project Graduation

Quarter 1 Report Cards will be distributed on Tuesday Oct. 18, 2011.

STUDENTS:
SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS, SENIORS:
The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 25, periods 1 - 4, in the Library. Any interested students may sign up in the counselor's office.
This test helps with identifying career strengths. Students need not be planning to join the military to take this test. Please see your counselor if you have any questions.

IMPORTANT: All students catching bus, starting Tuesday October 11, if you do not have your pass, you may be refused a ride to AND from school. Please be sure to pay and pick up your bus pass and remember to bring it on a daily basis.

Would it be possible for you to remind students through a possible announcement about the importance of bringing their ID cards to school every day if they expect to purchase meals, and in the event that they lose it or it's stolen, report it to the Front Office immediately to prevent misuse of monies in their account. Also, if a student plans on purchasing a meal for their friend, the owner of the ID card must be present. No borrowing ID cards, No using verbal card numbers, Absolutely no using of someone elses card, it is theft and you will be arrested. If students should forget their ID cards at home, we allow one temporary pass per week. Afterward, calls are made home to parents to inform them that students are required to have their ID cards available to purchase lunch (it's like their debit card), no card, no lunch. Please be responsible.

Any interested seniors and juniors should come to the counselors office to sign up to see college presentations. See your counselor for more information.

College and Career Fair: Monday, November 7th
To all interested Seniors and Juniors: The Hawaii College and Career Fair will be held on Monday, November 7th. Please come to the Counselor's office and pick up your permission form. We have a limited number of seats. This is a First Come, First Serve oppotunity, so don't wait. Bus fare is $3.45, due when you turn in your permission form.

Clubs:
SPANISH CLUB MEETING; THURSDAY OCTOBER 20, 2011 at lunch. Room D205. Please attend to discuss fund raiser. $!0 now due.

National Honor Society meeting on Wednesday, October 19th at 11:35 am in room D-103. Please make sure to pay your dues ($10) if you have not already. You will be dismissed at the end of the month. We will be passing out your NHS t-shirts and discussing 2nd quarter service project.

SPORTS:
Girls Varsity Basketball Signups will be Monday (10/17) through Friday (10/21) at the lower campus basketball court from 4-6 pm. Please come if you're interested!

All students interest in playing a Winter Sport (Basketball, Soccer, Canoe Paddling or Swimming):
Practices and tryouts will begin soon. You will need to have a current physical and parent consent form on file with the athletic trainers office (gym locker room) to be able to participate. See one of our trainers, Sam Henriques or Jenn Linton if you have any questions.
Forms can be picked up from Mr. Gonsalves office, the trainers office or the Main Office.


All boys interested in playing on this year's JV or Varsity Soccer team:
Sign up at Mr. Gonsalves office. Attend a pre-season informational meeting on WED. 10/19 at 1:45 p.m. at the Weight Room. Conditioning practices will begin on MON. 10/24. Make sure you have a current physical and consent form on file with the athletic trainers office.

All boys interested in playing on this year's JV or Varsity Basketball teams:
Open gym will begin on MON. 10/17. Official tryouts will be held on MON. 11/21.
You must have a current physical and parent consent form on file with the athletic trainers office to participate in open gym and tryouts.

JV Girls Soccer conditioning on Oct 20, 21, 24, 25 and 28 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
