This test will take approximately 5 hours to complete so it is important to start on time. You need to bring two #2 pencils, a calculator, your admission ticket and a picture ID. Please eat a good breakfast as you will be testing through lunch. You may bring a snack to eat during one of the breaks. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Keawe in the Counseling Office.

CANOE PADDLING
All students interested in participating on this year's CANOE PADDLING TEAMS, there will be sign ups and an informational meeting on TUE. 9/28 during LUNCH at Ms. Carvalho's room (P-140)

There is an informational meeting for the swim team MONDAY, 9/27in S107 during morning recess.  

SENIORS:
CAP & GOWN
Seniors who did NOT order cap & gown on the ordering day must now mail in your order.  DO NOT give your order form to Mrs. Watanabe.  If you have questions or need help, you may see Mrs. Watanabe in the SAC room, but DO NOT give your payment/order to her.

PROJECT GRAD
Attention all Seniors!  Project Grad. packets are available for pick up in the SAC room from Mrs. Watanabe during morning recess and lunch.  If you would like to attend this eventful night, come pick up your packet.  Don't wait until the last minute.  This will be the last time that you will spend with your classmates, so come out and make this a fun, exciting and memorable event!  

UH-MANOA
Seniors interested in the UH Manoa's College Opportunities Program may pick up information (Priority Consideration& Eligibility) and application forms from the counselor's office during recess and lunch.   Seniors must have at least a 2.0 GPA,,and has NOT earned more than 12 college credits above the 100-level.  3/4

SENIOR, JUNIORS & SOPHOMORES
Any interested Senior, Junior or Sophomore may sign up to take the ASVAB (Military Aptitude) Test, at the Counselor's office during Recess and Lunch.  The test will be held on Thursday, Oct 14 in the Library from Period 1 - 4.  4/4

SENIORS
Scholarships
Any Senior Girls interested in running for Miss Kauai Veteran may pick up an application at the counselor's office during recess or lunch. This Scholarship Pageant which the winner will receive a $1,000 college scholarship and be the Queen of the Veteran's Day Parade. Must be related to a Veteran and have a 2.5 GPA and be involved in community and student affairs. Deadline: Sept 30, 2010.

The HGEA Charles R Kendall Scholarship is in. Seniors may pick up an application at the counselor's office during recess or lunch. Criteria: Parents must be HGEA members, student must have financial need, academic achievement, write a personal letter and have 3 recommendation letters. Deadline: Jan.10, 2011

Cap & Gown Ordering
Cap & Gown ordering day is on Tuesday, Sept. 21st during lunch in the SAC room. don't forget. If you did not get an informational graduation packet, you may get one at the SAC room. Make sure you bring in a deposit of $60.00 to place your order. Seniors may also order a class ring if you did not order one last year. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Watanabe for more details.

ASVAB Aptitude Test
Any interested Senior, Junior or Sophomore may sign up to take the ASVAB (Military Aptitude) Test, at the Counselor's office during Recess and Lunch. The test will be held on Thursday, Oct 14 in the Library from Period 1 - 4.

JUNIORS
Class Ring Ordering
Juniors will have the opportunity to order a class ring on Tuesday, Sept. 21st during morning recess in the SAC room. If you did not receive an informational ring packet, you may get one through your English teacher or at the SAC room. Make sure you bring in a deposit of $60.00 if you are going to order.

JUNIORS , SOPHOMORES & FRESHMEN
PSAT
Kapaa High School's PSAT (Preliminary SAT test) is scheduled for Saturday, October 16 from 8:00 am - 11:15 am. It is scheduled only once a year and by chance it falls on our Homecoming Day. Therefore, it is especially important for everyone to come on time so we can finish on time and be ready for Homecoming. The PSAT is open to Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen. The cost is $14. You will receive a PSAT Prep Booklet/Study Guide to help you with your preparation. Sign ups will begin on Monday, September 13 during non classroom time in the Counselor's Office. Seating is limited so it is on a first come first served. We highly recommend our Juniors who are thinking of attending a four year college to sign up, in order to have you even better prepared to take your first SAT's during the Spring Semester.

CLUBS
Japanese Club: Omedetoo (congratulations!) to the following elected officers: President: Tineal Puaoi, Vice President : Justin Uegawa, Secretary: Brendon Jacinto and Treasurser: Jessica Lee. Come to the lunch recess meeting on Tuesday to find out who the mascot is. Japanese Club Meeting on Tuesday (9/21) during lunch recess at D-203. Talking about upcoming events. Spanish Club: There will be a Spanish Club meeting on Wednesday, September 22nd, in Señora Verzosa'sRoom (P-148) during lunch. We will be voting for our Club officers. Please be prompt and be ready to share your ideas. Thank you.

Interact Club: The Interact club will be having their 2nd General meeting in the Chorus Room at 12:10. You can bring your lunch, but please be prompt we will be having a guest speaker. If you have any questions, please see Aunty Joan in the counselor's office.

We welcome new members and their ideas! Students need not be taking Spanish in order to join.
