DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS: MONDAY- APRIL 28, 2011

Congratulations to Kapaa High School's Army JROTC for their outstanding commitment, teamwork and performance at the Waianae Adventure Challenge on Oahu this past weekend! We entered three teams. The female team were cadets Kristel Guino (team captain), Brittany Ganiron, Lucy Harper, Jen Mata, and Christina Pico. The male cadets were cadets Joe Blair (team captain), Michael Alonzo, Shiloh Begley, Kenneth Villanueva, and Emmanuel Tangonan. And last but not least, the mix team cadets were Kleiff Pascual (team captain), Reggie Acoba, Jameson Macadamia, Kellie-Ann Nuesca, and Cy O'brien. This event is considered comparable to a State Finals with all Hawaii JROTC schools (26 total) represented. The challenge was over a two day period with seven physically and mentally demanding events. The female team won the overall first place team trophy (State Champions) and individual team trophies for Swimming and Paddling (1st place), Rope Bridge (1st place), and Physical Training Test (2nd place). The male team won the 3rd place team trophy for the Run/Rappelling event. The cadets not only brought home five trophies, but they also brought home pride and honor in representing Kapaa High School. The biggest lesson learned, which applies to life, is HARD WORK PAYS OFF . Again, congratulations to JROTC for a job well done - Hooah!
